I have found that the proper strategy requires a combination of methods in site content, search engine optimization, link campaigns, pay per click ads, banners, e-mail newsletters, and multiple other strategies. Every project requires different techniques to achieve your target budgeting targets, but many constants exist such as test studies, market research, and customer analysis.

The proper steps towards search engine optimization requires taking both the big and small steps in the correct order. I have always addressed the first step as being proper development of the site including solid copy, assigning keyword properly, standards-compliant sitemap authoring, among other web basics. Once I have built the correct components into the site, the next steps can range from registering the site with search systems and shopping indexes to promoting linking with partners.

SEM

Search Engine Marketing is a type of Internet Marketing that attempts to promote websites by increasing their visibility in the Search Engine results pages with a focus on ROI. I have found that this focus is strengthened with leverage of such tools as Google Analytics tracking and Webmaster tools as well as metrics thru various other 3rd party vendors and applications. An intricate factor that I have working with while focusing on search engine marketing is proper management on Pay-Per-Click vendors such as Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and Microsoft adCenter. I have found that there is a clear cut difference between what works and what does not, but only thru real-world experience managing, developing, and researching these campaigns. In conjunction with managing the PPC campaigns, aggressive research and measurable metrics must be implemented with custom splash pages and tracking codes associated with each campaign.

Brand

An element that is often underestimated within any medium of marketing is proper promotion of each company's brand or identity. My responsibility of visually communicating the persona of the project if only done after considerable background research and client interaction. The proper emphasis needs to be applied to the company logo, directives, and mission through each email blast, PPC campaign, or online promotion. I always seek for consistency in developing logos, branding colors, and business styles when promoting throughout any online or print medium.
